    his listing is for a Meyer alto saxophone ligature and matching mouthpiece cap. I've never seen this particular ligature before, and can't find it listed for sale anywhere, so I'm not sure if these are still being made, or not. It must be a relatively recent product, based on the design and the plastic cap. It is clearly a major step up from the basic ligatures that are included with Meyer mouthpieces. This is an inverted style ligature, meaning it is to be positioned with the screws at the top of the mouthpiece. It has two longitudinal reed contact rails on the inside, which minimizes the amount of material contacting the reed, thus allowing it to vibrate more freely. It is made of sturdy, heavy gauge brass. This ligature fits standard, and slightly fat bodied, hard rubber or plastic alto sax mouthpieces such as Selmer, Vandoren, Otto Link, and obviously Meyer, as well as many more. It
    is in excellent used condition. It has not been bent out of shape, and the
    screws
    work perfectly. The finish is in excellent condition. I got these from a music store, so it is quite probable that they were just demo models that were never sold to the general public. The ligature will come with a matching plastic mouthpiece cap, also in excellent condition.
